This year 2012 will see another fantastic London green fair organised – the biggest green festival London has to offer. Running from the 9th and 10th of June at Regent’s park there is much on offer at this green festival, especially as it is the 20th anniversary of the festival. The event gives over 100 campaign groups and community groups the opportunity to have a platform to get their thoughts across to a significant amount of people.
The event itself is expecting to attract over 20,000 people and will be powered amazingly by the sun and the wind. People visiting can expect a variety of entertainment and interesting things to do. The event is designed around education on all things green and also entertainment to make it a fun and friendly event. Things to do and see include:
Music – different music from all around the world will be performing on the stages. This includes an 80-piece symphonic orchestra
Family area – free dance and music classes for and a chill out space for the children and family.
Talks – there will be seminars, debates and interesting panels put together to discuss current green related issues.
BikeFest – a mini bike festival within the green fair festival which is looking at electronic bikes. This great little festival gives people the opportunity to test electronic bikes out to see how the feel and what they think of the idea. A very innovative and worth while project.
Shopping – fair-trade and green stalls will be available for people wanting to buy environmentally friendly products.
The festival is not for profit and is run by kind volunteers, we at greencares.co.uk would like to say a massive well done to them all for organising such a fantastic event. It is well worth a look for everyone of all ages.
